Acetate

Acetate is a tool for Mac OS X written for animators to track arcs and joints while animating by simulating a layer of Acetate attached to the screen. It includes a simple set of drawing tools that allow a user to draw over the top of any application. Other uses include annotating presentations, or analyzing movement in a video. Or just doodling.

The latest version is 0.9.9 which should be considered a Beta release, though a very stable one. In other words, it does everything it should and shouldn’t crash.

It is compatible with Snow Leopard (10.6) and Lion (10.7).
